About Us

Welcome to Castendieck

We’re so glad you found your way to us. Our historic timber-framed house has stood here in Sankt Hülfe since 1819 – and we’re delighted to welcome you to this special historic building.

Who We Are

My name is Martina Finkenstedt and I’ve been running Castendieck with passion since 2011. I originally trained as a architectural draftsman and studied civil engineering. But during my studies, I worked in gastronomy – and realized: “This is more fun!” After over 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry, it was time to do something of my own. That’s how I ended up here, in this beautiful old house.

Our House

Castendieck – formerly known as Lohaus – has history. People have always celebrated, met, and gathered here. Many clubs from the region call our house their home, the Lions Club meets here, and when the men’s choir celebrates its carnival session or the jazz friends give a concert, our hall is full of life.

We have rooms for overnight guests, our restaurant for all who enjoy good German cuisine, and a beer garden under old oaks that is simply wonderful in summer. For your celebrations – whether wedding, birthday, or company party – we have space for up to 150 people.

Where We Are

We are located in Sankt Hülfe, right on the former B51, just two kilometers from Diepholz. If you’re traveling by bike: the Brückenradweg (Bridge Cycle Path) leads directly past us – perfect for a break!

The area here is beautiful. Lake Dümmer, Lower Saxony’s second-largest lake, is just a few kilometers away. There you can swim, sail, cycle, or simply enjoy nature. The Diepholz Moor Lowlands with its moor paths are also not far – ideal for hikes and catching your breath.

Our Tradition

Here in Sankt Hülfe, the May Celebration has been held since 1498 – that’s truly one of the oldest traditions in the region! Village life is vibrant, the people are warm, and that’s exactly what makes our area so special.

Come Visit!

Whether you want to stay for a night, eat with us, or host your celebration with us – we look forward to seeing you. With us, you’re not just a guest. You are welcome.

See you soon at Castendieck
